Yoga – the ideal stress release
Yoga – what an ideal way to get rid of mental stress, burnout feelings and lack of flexibility (physical and mental). Corona confinement has put a lot of mental stress on us and limited our activities to more or less zero. Online-classes cannot replace group energy and social contact – even when distancing is the everyday motto. Practice yoga in the real world again, feel the motivation and positive energy which develops in a group practice. While developing flexibility and strength you can put your mind on reset, as says Monty Python – you learn “looking on the bright side of life” again.
The benefits of yoga
Yoga brings about inner and outer strength by uniting the body with the mind through the practice of physical postures, meditation, breath work and chanting. Practising yoga can be a mystical as well as magical experience that is very different from traditional Western “workouts.”Yoga is an ancient practice — ascetics in Northern India used yogic techniques from 500 BCE to liberate themselves from what they feared was an endless cycle of rebirth.
Yoga practices and aims have changed a lot since then and nowadays students come to class for a myriad of reasons — maybe you want to improve your flexibility and cardiovascular health. Or perhaps your goals are different and you would like to achieve a heightened state of mental awareness or a sense of peace. All of these are possible.

BYP offers various kinds of Yoga.
- For beginners we recommend to start with Hatha Yoga and Yin Yoga
- when you feel more assured you can go on to YIN Yang Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Iyenga Yoga.
- The classes marked as all level (TN – tous niveaux) are accessible for everybody. You are asked to respect the limits your body tells you. You should never exaggerate and demand too much of your body.

Also known as the Yoga of stability, calm, slowness… and depth.
Taking the time to settle into the posture, concentrating on your breath, relaxing and mindfulness are the keys to the success of this practice.
No dynamic sequences but postures on the floor maintained for several minutes with the help of props such as bricks, cushions, bolsters, blankets…
The moments of rest are also of capital importance: it is during these phases of rest that the body regenerates, that the energy circulates again in an optimal way, that the benefits appear.
Relaxation of connective tissue, fascia, tendons and ligaments, deepening of the breath and mental calmness are all benefits of this practice with unsuspected power.
