Feldenkrais: awareness through movement
« As the brain goes, so goes the body, and as the body goes, so goes the brain. » Anat Baniel
Feldenkrais explores the biological and cultural aspects of movement, posture and learning, and how our habits can constrain us to a small portion of our potential. The method uses a process of organic learning, movement, and sensing to free you from habitual patterns and allow for new patterns of thinking, moving and feeling to emerge.
In these structured movement lessons, students typically begin by lying on comfortable mats. Using a combination of guided attention and pleasant, purposeful movement, each lesson guides you through the essential dynamic relationships in a particular pattern of movement and action.
Awareness Through Movement was developed by Dr. Feldenkrais as a means to re-engage the nervous system in the kind of learning we all do as infants, but later usually abandon. The compositional structure of the lessons creates a conversation of sensing, feeling, resting and moving that engages your whole system in a process of organic learning where old habits can be replaced by new awareness and skill.
Weaving together classical yoga with a feminine twist, sensual spirals & succulent undulations with Tantric breath & sounding, energy awareness & emphasis on conscious movement, this class is unique in its synthesis of traditions & multidimensional realities.
For beginners & experienced yoginis alike, each class is an invitation to be authentic with exactly where You are right now. Through the invitation of releasing your intellect to the wisdom of your body You have the opportunity to harmonize with your heart & your primal/instinctual nature.
There is nothing more powerful than a woman with an open heart who is deeply rooted in her instincts & clear in her mind.
Come, let's practice together!

Hatha Yoga is a traditional form of Yoga.
Hatha Yoga helps your body to find back its balance and improves its strength and flexibility.
It is a form of yoga that makes use of Asanas (postures). The students are asked to remain in these postures for a certain length of time (a few breaths to a few minutes). This method strengthens the muscles and your flexibility. Particular attention is directed to slow breathing, thus releasing all the tensions in body and mind.
Some more dynamic sequences combining a flow of postures with the flow of breath (like the sun salutation), the use of your respiration (pranayamas) and/or meditation can also be part of a Hatha yoga session.
You’ll go through a short and deep relaxation to integrate and harmonize all the benefits of the practice in your body at the end of the class.
Hatha Yoga Foundations (Beginners')
In this class, we will be going back to basics providing you with a solid foundation for a strong, healthy, mindful and focused yoga class. We will be mobilizing your body with gentle stretches, exploring basic postures (asanas) and their correct alignment as well as setting the foundations and playfully approaching more advanced postures. In the meantime you will benefit from an introduction to how to use breath to support your body on and off the mat and an increased awareness of the health and wellbeing of your body and mind.

Vinyasa style, available for beginners.
Meditation is a practice by which a person achieves a greater sense of awareness, wisdom, introspection, and a deeper sense of relaxation. Practiced for millennia, it is the discipline of concentrating on a single object, thought, sound, movement, or on attention itself.
Meditation is increasingly practiced by many regardless of their religious beliefs and background.
Becoming aware of your thoughts, surroundings, sounds, smells, bodily movements, and especially your breath are fundamental techniques of meditation.
Jon Kabat-Zinn emphasizes that “It’s not really about sitting in the full lotus, like pretending you’re a statue in a British museum… It’s about living your life moment by moment” despite what is going on around you.
We practice not to escape the world, but to live more fully in it through mindfulness.
In this course, we will explore various meditation techniques, such as sitting, standing, and walking. This is an act of being precisely in the moment, neither controlling your mind rigidly nor letting it go completely, but being aware of who you are and where you are.
The basic objective is to be present—here and now.
We practice so that being present and grounded become an automatic response when we are off the mat living our lives.

Rest and Restore Yoga
We will approach to the class trying to be fully connected with the cycle of nature.
According to the principles of Ayurveda, water is the primary element of winter.
With a fluid sequences of restorative poses and a soft flowing practice on the water element, we can stimulate the prana and restore an overall sense of vibrancy and vitality in the body.
The stimulation of vital force(prana) can also take us out of the stagnation in life and help us move forward and through our intentions, setting up our mind, body, and life once spring arrives.
Calling on the divine light from within, we will start our path to emerge out of the darkness.
proposes a complete yogic approach. It was passed to the west in the 60's thanks to Swami Vishnudevananda, disciple of Swami Sivananda, who set up a basic class in three parts: breathing exercices or pranayama, the postures or asanas, including sun salutation and 12 basic postures, and a final relaxation or savasana. By calming the body, we calm the mind and our whole being can experience joy and peace.
Tonic Vinyasa Flow
Energetic, dynamic and tonic asana practice!
We combine in this class the dynamic breathing and flowing of Vinyasa Yoga with moments of permanence in the asanas. A great way to integrate strength, flexibility, mobility and core power into your practice.
This class suits also beginners. Each one’s limits must be always looked after and posture’s variations are always a good option to build up a solid asana practice.
Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement," and Vinyasa yoga is a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. Vinyasa movements are smoothly flowing and almost dance-like, which explains why it is sometimes referred to as Vinyasa Flow or just Flow.
Like all styles of yoga, Vinyasa has both mental and physical benefits. Physically, sweat expels toxins and re-energizes your body. Mentally, the synchronized breathing relaxes your mind and helps to release any blockage of energy flow throughout your body.
Good for beginners?
Can be! Depends if it s a class for Beginners (Gentle Flow) or Advanced (for which a pretty good condition and experience is required) A Vinyasa class is both a great place to start and to continue challenging yourself. If you like to focus on the power of breathing and flowing movement through poses, if you need a good workout, you will enjoy the Vinyasa style.
Yin Yang Yoga
A perfect class at the end of the day that combines Vinyasa flow at the beginning to feel into your body in movement and the Restorative Yin yoga in the second half of it to dive deeper into the sensations... you will come out re-invigorated and restored!
Inform José if you are a complete beginner as his classes can be quite a challenge :-)
Yoga of Kashmir
Yoga of Kashmir here stands for the teachings of Eric Baret, transmitted directly to Ana as received from his teacher, Jean Klein.
Coming from the principle that our true nature is blissful and silent, this yoga is an invitation to availability, there’s absolutely nothing to be done to realize what we already are, nowhere to go, nothing to achieve. All manifestations have their origin in this silence and tend to unfold and be reabsorbed in their origin. Actions, thoughts, emotions emerging and submerging, following their natural path and responding to the environment always freshly and clearly, accurate actions flourishing from a deep listening.
Slow mindful style accessible to beginners
Yoga Spécial Dos
Therapeutical type of yoga.
Few physical Benefits of Yoga Exercises for the back:
• Strengthening from holding yoga positions. Yoga helps increase strength in very specific muscles and muscle groups.
• Back and abdominal muscles are essential components of the muscular network of the spine, helping the body maintain proper upright posture and movement. When these muscles are well conditioned, back pain can be greatly reduced or avoided.
• Stretching and relaxation from yoga. Yoga incorporates stretching and relaxation, which reduces tension in stress-carrying muscles. For people with lower back pain, stretching is very important.
• In addition, stretching with yoga increases blood flow, allowing nutrients to flow in, toxins to flow out, and overall nourishment of the muscles and soft tissues in the lower back.
• Breathing is considered very important during the yoga poses. The quality of the breath in many ways determines the quality of the yoga practice.
• This will emphasize a relaxed body and encourage strong circulation. Proper body alignment and good posture, which helps maintain the natural curvature of the spine, is an important part of reducing or avoiding lower back pain.
Please always inform your yoga teacher about specific problems that you have. This yoga class does not replace proper back pain treatment by a doctor. People with acute back pain should consult their doctor if taking up active exercises is considered beneficial in their case.
