5 things to know for your first visit to the Studio
– I register online to be sure to have a place (the capacity of our rooms is limited, for better supervision)
– I arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of the class (the studio is generally open 15′ in advance)
– I inform the teacher of my state of health: recent operations and accidents, chronic illnesses, pregnancy, etc.
– I eat a maximum of 2 hours before class (you will enjoy your meal better afterwards; hydrate yourself well before and after class)
– I cancel my course at least 4 hours in advance
3 things to know about Reformer Pilates class
– Equipment / reformer Pilates is for everyone, whatever your age, body shape or fitness level. It’s particularly beneficial for people with back problems or recovering from injuries. Specially developed equipment is used to help you move more efficiently and freely in everything you do.
– Reformer Pilates classes are tailored to the individual’s needs and objectives. They are taught in small groups of up to six people, so there’s more individual attention.
– Please be aware that the cancellation policy is different for those classes: you should cancel your booking at least 24 hours before the beginning of the class to leave your space on the machine to another client.
General rules
– Leave your shoes at the entrance. There are cultural, practical and spiritual reasons for this rule. First, removing shoes is a sign of respect. Furthermore, the classes are practiced on the floor. It’s also easier to ground yourself if your feet are making direct contact with the floor.
– Classes are given in French and in English for the comfort of our members. It’s open 7 days a week.
– Yoga mats are at your disposal in each studio.You will also find in the studio blankets, bolsters, belts, and corks bricks. With the covid context, we recommend to bring your own yoga mat, otherwise wipe down any borrowed mats after practice and put props away where they belong.
– Leave your cell phone outside the room. This is so you can fully disconnect and others won’t be disturbed.Plan to stay for the whole class. If you must leave early, let the teacher know.
– Bring water, Wear clothing appropriate for the class. You want something comfortable that you can move in that isn’t prone to a wardrobe malfunction or to bunching up and getting in your way: think stretchy, breathable fabrics.
– Let the instructor know about any physical issues and preferences. If you have a problem such as a bad back or a frozen shoulder, or if you prefer not to receive any hands-on assists, let the instructor know before class.
Be respectful. Towards yourself, the class and the instructor. Don’t push when your body is telling you to stop. Remain focused on your own practice. Keep an open-minded on different approaches and discoveries. Be positive and speak openly about any question or doubt you may have.
